N Kiran Kumar Reddy urges PM for deletion of Clause 14 (F) of PO
Reddy urged Manmohan Singh to take steps for the deletion of Clause 14 (F)of PO that makes Hyderabad a free zone for employment.
Reddy called the Prime Minister this afternoon to make the request, the Chief Minister's Office said in a release.
The issue is likely to be taken up in the meeting of Union Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA) this evening and a decision is expected, it said.
Telangana supporters say that the Andhra Pradesh capital should be part of other Telangana districts and the city should not be a free zone.
The students unions in Telangana and political leaders, cutting across party lines, have been demanding the deletion of Clause 14 (F).
The Telangana students groups have called for a shutdown in the region tomorrow in support of the demand. TRS said in a release that its president K Chandrasekhar Rao appealed to the people to make the bandh a 'success'.
