Myanmar invites Narendra Modi for bilateral visit

Wrapping up her four-day trip, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said as Modi will come here to attend the multilateral meeting, Myanmarese leaders have extended an invitation to him for a bilateral visit.
After a meeting with her Myanmarese counterpart U Wunna Maung Lwin, she said Myanmar was quite excited about the new government in India and requested for a bilateral visit by Modi.
"Myanmar has invited the Prime Minister for a bilateral visit," she said.
The Modi government has been focusing on improving ties with neighbouring countries.
The Prime Minister has already visited Bhutan and Nepal. East Asia Summit is a forum for co-operation between various countries of this region with ASEAN and includes Australia, China, India, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Russia and the US, in addition to the 10 ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) countries.
