NEW DELHI: The Bihar government set up a medical board on Monday and a team of three doctors reached the hospital ward of Muzaffarpur jail to examine the health of the main accused in the sexual abuse case, Brajesh Thakur.

The development came after the ET on Monday reported that Thakur had been kept in the hospital ward of the jail for the past 40 days, following complaints of ailments such as slip disc, diabetes and fluctuating blood pressure.

The medical board had not been constituted so far, although Thakur had first spent three weeks of his judicial custody in a city hospital before he was shifted to the jail’s hospital ward on June 27.
