Muzaffarnagar violence: Top police officials transferred

LUCKNOW: Heads have started rolling over the violence in Muzaffarnagar with the Uttar Pradesh government today transferring top police officials, including Saharanpur DIG, SSP Muzaffarnagar and SP Shamli.

DIG range, Saharanpur DD Mishra has been replaced by A M Jain, who was posted in police recruitment board as DIG, official sources said.

Mishra has been attached to the DGP office. Violence-hit Muzaffarnagar lies in Saharanpur range. ADG Bhavesh Kumar Singh has also been sent to Saharanpur to assist ADG (Law and Order) Arun Kumar in controlling the situation.

Besides them SSP, Muzaffarnagar Subhash Chandra Dubey has been transferred and attached to DG office while Praveen Kumar has been sent in this place, they said.

Similarly, SP Shamli Abdul Hamid has also been transferred and Anil Rai has been made new SP there.

Tension has been running high in the district since three persons were killed in Kawal village on August 27 over an eveteasing incident.
