Muzaffarnagar violence: RLD to move Supreme Court for CBI probe
MUZAFFARNAGAR: RLD Chief and Union Minister Ajit Singh has said that his party would move the Supreme Court demanding a CBI enquiry into Muzaffarnagar riots.

A petition in this regard was pending in the Supreme Court, Singh said here yesterday, adding that a CBI enquiry could only be ordered by a court or by the state government.

The RLD Chief had yesterday accused the Uttar Pradesh government of total failure in managing the violence and hinted that the riots were orchestrated by ruling SP in collusion with BJP for polarising votes.

The Supreme Court is currently monitoring the probe into the riots and relief and rehabilitation work in violence-hit areas.
