Muzaffarnagar violence: BSP demands UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's resignation
LUCKNOW: Accusing the Samajwadi government of indulging in "politics of communalism", BSP today demanded resignation of UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for his "failure" to control violence in Muzaffarnagar district.

"From Muzaffarnagar violence, administrative failure of SP government has once again come to fore. It has proved that Akhilesh government has bowed in front of criminals and it should immediately resign", BSP leader Swami Prasad Maurya told reporters here.

He alleged that there was no law and order in the state and communal forces, criminals and mafia were ruling the roost.

BSP leader in Vidhan Parishad Naseemuddin Siddiqui said that had police and administration took strict action against those involved in triple murder in Muzaffarnagar on August 27, the situation would not have worsened.

"The violence in Muzaffarnagar is on and government is a mute spectator to it...The government is doing politics of communalism..", he alleged.

At least 12 persons have been killed in clashes between two communities in Muzaffarnagar.
