Muzaffarnagar riots: Son of Khap council chief charge sheeted
MUZAFFARNAGAR: Six people including the son of Khap council chief have been charge sheeted in connection with the murder of three persons in Bahawdi village during Muzaffarnagar riots, Special Investigation Team sources said.

The SIT filed a charge sheet against one Shayam Singh, son of Khap council head Baba Sita Ram, and five others-- Deepak, Dharmender, Surender, Sonu and Nitu in connection with the murder of three people and burning down their houses.

The incident occurred on September 8 when Dilshad, Hasina Begum and Andirka Begum were allegedly killed by rioters and their houses burnt down in Bahawdi village, sources said.

A complaint against these six people was lodged by another riot victim Saeed, sources said.

This is the first instance in which son of a community leader has been charge sheeted by the SIT.
