Muzaffarnagar riots: SIT records statement of a deceased couple's family

According to SIT sources, it has started with the investigation of 11 missing people after considering that they had been killed in riots in the district.

MUZAFFARNAGAR: The Special Investigation Team ( SIT) probing the Muzaffarnagar riot cases, has recorded the statement of family members of a deceased couple in connection with their murder in Lisadh village here.

Appearing before a local court yesterday, the family members said that Naimuddin(65) and his first wife Aliman (60) were killed and their bodies burnt in the house by rioters in Lisadh village on December 8, 2013.

Naimuddin's second wife and son also lodged an FIR against more than 60 people and named seven people in this connection.

A case has been registered under Section 302(murder) and Section 201(causing disappearance of evidence of offence)of the IPC against seven people, police said.

The SIT has recorded the statements of the victim's family under Section 164 CrPC (recording of confessions and statements) for evidence.

According to SIT sources, it has started with the investigation of 11 missing people after considering that they had been killed in riots in the district.
