Riots accused Ankit and Sunil were arrested yesterday for killing Latafat Ali and Nazar Mohammad near Gang Nahar, popularly known as Jolly canal.

MUZAFFARNAGAR: Four people have been arrested in connection with two murder cases at Jolly village here during the Muzaffarnagar riots last year, police said today.

Riots accused Ankit and Sunil were arrested yesterday for killing Latafat Ali and Nazar Mohammad near Gang Nahar, popularly known as Jolly canal under Bhopa police station on September 7 last year, SP (Crime) Rakesh Jolly told the media.

Another riots accused duo Zulfikar and Ishtiyak were also arrested yesterday in connection with murdering two others in the same case, he said.

All the accused have been sent to 14-days judicial custody, police said.

The incident took place when a group of villagers were returning home after attending a Mahapanchayat in September last year.
