MUZAFFARNAGAR: The Muzaffarnagar riot victims held a demonstration outside the office of the District Magistrate in Shamli to press for their demand that missing persons should be declared dead by the administration.

The riot victims displaced during communal clashes held a demonstration yesterday demanding that the government should declare the eleven missing people as dead.

At least 13 people were reportedly missing since the riots. Later, bodies of two missing persons were recovered, sources at Special Investigation Team said.

But 11 people are still missing and they are suspected to have been killed in riots at Lisadh village, they said.

The kin of the missing people have not got any relief yet. Communal clashes in Muzaffarnagar and adjoining areas have claimed 62 lives and displaced over 40,000 people.
