Muzaffarnagar clashes: SHO suspended for negligence of duty

MUZAFFARNAGAR: The Station House Officer ( SHO) of Bhora Kalan police station has been suspended on charges of failing to arrest those involved in the recent riots at Mohammadpur Raisingh village here.

SHO Omprakash Choudhry was yesterday placed under suspension for negligence of duty for failing to arrest the accused in the riots in Mohammadpur Raisingh village under Budhana police station, a police official said.

Several people had died during the riots in September in Mohammadpur Raisingh village, one of the worst affected in the district. Later, three persons were killed in the village in a fresh round of violence on October 30.

The police is yet to arrest several people accused of rioting.
