Muslim quota will make Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav irrelevant: Union steel minister Beni Prasad Verma

LUCKNOW: Union steel minister Beni Prasad Verma said that Muslim quota cleared by the central government would make his former mentor-turned-foe Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav irrelevant.

He said that it was a decision made for the upliftment of the minority community and the Samajwadi Party would be wiped off in the coming polls.

“This decision would make Sapa saaf, Maya half and Congress top (remove SP, cut Mayawati to half and put Congress on the top), Verma said on Friday. “The Congress will form its government in UP with full majority,” he added.

Verma said that the leader of the future is Rahul Gandhi and both Mulayam Singh Yadav and Mayawati cannot face the youth whom they have fooled for years.

He said that Mulayam Singh Yadav and Mayawati are criminals in the eye of the youth as they deprived an entire generation of jobs and livelihood.

Asserting that Anna Hazare would have no impact in Uttar Pradesh he went on to add that "he is four-feet high while I am sixfeet". “We have devoted decades in politics and he cannot come and take our place in a few days,” Verma said.

He said that Mayawati's four years rule had seen unbridled corruption and the people will throw her government out.

He demanded a CBI probe into the misutlisation of funds for controlling pollution in water bodies. The Union environment minister Jayanti Natarajan had written a letter to chief minister Mayawati pointing out pollution of rivers and contamination of ground water by industrial affluents.
