NEW DELHI: In a veiled criticism of Union Minority Affairs Minister A R Antulay, a Muslim organisation on Sunday said that some people were casting aspersions on the killing of former Maharashtra ATS chief Hemant Karkare for "political gains".

"Some people are demanding a probe into the death of Karkare to gain political mileage. Muslims are proud of Karkare, Ashok Kamte and Vijay Salaskar who laid down their lives for the country," All India United Muslim Morcha president M A Siddiqui said in a statement.

"Muslims in India will nor allow Pakistan to take advantage of the situation arising in the aftermath of Mumbai terror attacks," he said.

He also demanded that Dalit Muslims should be given reservation under Scheduled Caste category. The Morcha will oppose the Congress till this demand is met.
