ISLAMABAD: Pervez Musharraf' portraits, which graced the walls of government offices and Pakistani missions abroad during his nine-year reign, were on Tuesday removed unceremoniously after his resignation as President.
The portraits of the 65-year-old former commando were removed from all government offices and foreign missions in line with a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, TV channels reported.
The portraits were removed from the Presidency, Prime Minister's Secretariat, army's General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, Air Force headquarters, naval headquarters and offices of formation commanders.
Musharraf announced his resignation during a televised address to the nation on Monday in order to avert his impeachment by the ruling coalition.
