Munde to meet BJP top brass
Senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde, who had refused to meet the central party leadership despite being summoned by it, on Tuesday changed his stand and left for Delhi.
"Munde is expected to meet top BJP leaders during his stay in Delhi today," an aide of Munde, who tendered his resignation from all party posts on Sunday, said.
However, he declined to give details with regard to Munde's appointment with BJP leaders.
Munde had virtually defied the BJP leadership by refusing to go to Delhi after being summoned by the party leadership for resolving the crisis in the Maharashtra unit.
He had instead deputed his two representatives BJP leaders in Maharashtra Assembly and Council, Eknath Khadse and Pandurang Phundkar respectively- to meet the party high command.
After a two-and-half hour long meeting of the party's core group yesterday, in which senior leaders L K Advani, Jaswant Singh, Yashwant Sinha, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj and Bal Apte were present, BJP President Rajnath Singh had told reporters that he will talk to Munde on Tuesday and resolve all the issues.
