Mumbai rains: Two electrocuted, blackout as BEST shuts down some substations
MUMBAI: There were two casualties due to electricity on Friday while Mumbaikars who kept to their homes complained about the blackout. Ranjit Kumar Gupta (60) and his grandson Gaurav Karnik (5) were electrocuted after coming in contact with a live wire in Wadala.

Meanwhile, there was no power in parts of Backbay, Pratiksha Nagar and Antop Hill. South Mumbai was left reeling since 6.30 am. “We ideally cut power when water rises above three feet as there is a danger of people being electrocuted,” explained a BEST official.
