Mumbai on alert following Malegaon blast

MUMBAI: Mumbai was placed on high alert following a blast in Maharashtra's textile town of Malegaon on Friday, police said.

The entire city and especially some sensitive areas have been placed on high alert, they said.

Security has been stepped up at entry and exit points, at vital intallations and places of worship, police said.

In view of the July 11 serial train blasts in the city, security forces have already been on alert.
