Mumbai monorail services disrupted; 11 stranded passengers rescued
MUMBAI: Monorail services in Mumbai were today disrupted apparently due to power failure, leaving 11 passengers stranded inside the train near Bhakti Park in Wadala area.

According to a fire brigade official, they got a call this morning about some passengers being stuck in the monorail near Wadala.

"We got a call at around 9 AM about the incident and immediately our rescue team reached the spot and we have managed to rescue 11 people," the official said.

When contacted, MMRDA spokesperson said they were looking into the matter.

The monorail services have not yet been resumed. The Mumbai monorail, the first such service in the country, had started between Wadala Depot and Chembur in the metropolis in February last year.
