Mumbai godown catches fire

Fire broke out in the godown of a plastic company in Mumbai's north-east suburb of Kurla early on Sunday, fire officials said.

MUMBAI: Fire broke out in the godown of a plastic company in Mumbai's north-east suburb of Kurla early on Sunday, fire officials said.

The godown, located at Nehru Nagar area, caught fire at around 4.25 am, they said adding there was no report of any casualty so far.

Nine fire engines and five water tankers were rushed to the spot to douse the flame. Three ambulances were also sent to the spot to hospitalise the injured, if any, the officials said.

Cause of the fire was being ascertained, they said.
