Mumbai civic polls: Chances of Sena-BJP tie-up fading
MUMBAI: Chances for an alliance between Shiv Sena and BJP for the forthcoming Mumbai civic elections are fast receding and things can only be salvaged if Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis intervenes.

However, the separation even if bitter and acrimonious is likely for a short while as leaders from both parties said they are likely to come together to form an alliance after the polls depending on the seats the two parties get.

A day after the Sena ‘humiliated’ the BJP by offering them just 60 seats, angry BJP leaders have said they should call off the alliance. The final call will be taken by Fadnavis who is chairing a meet with top BJP leaders.

There have been confusing signals from the BJP. While most BJP leaders, not in favour of an alliance, said Fadnavis will not approach the Sena again, others said a ‘final proposal’ may be given to the Sena by Sunday evening.
