LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Thursday skipped the Yash Bharti Awards ceremony to which he was invited as the guest of honour. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav presented the highest state honour that his father had instituted.

According to SP sources, Mulayam is keen on re-induction of all expelled ministers, including Shivpal Yadav, into the ministry but Akhilesh is yet to agree to it. He has placed the condition that ministers would be taken back only when all expelled youth wing leaders are reinstated.

Akhilesh went to meet Mulayam immediately after the awards function but the meeting failed to break the stalemate between the father and son.

Mulayam wanted the expelled ministers to be reinstated before Diwali, but that looks unlikely. The expelled youth wing leaders have been attending meetings to prepare for the Vikas Rath Yatra, beginning on November 3, on the CM’s invitation.

The CM has also created a piquant situation by not sacking minister Pawan Pandey, despite his expulsion from the party.
