Mufti Mohammad Sayeed meets Najma Heptulla, discusses PMSS

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today met Union Minister for Minority Affairs Najma Heptulla here and discussed various issues including the hardships faced by students studying under the Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS).

Sayeed met Heptulla here this morning and Member Parliament and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti was also present on the occasion, an official spokesman said.

During their meeting, Sayeed discussed various issues, especially those related to better use of Wakf properties so as to make these revenue-generating assets, hardships faced by students pursuing studies outside the state under PMSSS and release of post-matric scholarship to the students of the state.

The Union Minister assured the chief minister that she will take up on priority the issues deliberated upon in the meeting, the spokesman said.

He said the union minister also discussed with the Chief Minister the new scheme - USTAAD - launched by her ministry for skill development of youth, which is aimed at improving their employability in the private and Government sectors.
