MSM tolaunch agitation in support og DCI recommendations
Moolvasi Sadaan Morcha (MSM), a issued-based front of political and non-political organisations, would launch state-wide agitation from February 19 if the recommendations of Delimitation Commission of India (DCI) were not implemented in Jharkhand.
Presidents of Jharkhand Vikas Dal (JVD) and Jharkhand Lok Morcha (JLM), Suraj Mandal and Shailendra Mahto (both former parliamentarian) respectively told a joint press conference here today that MSM was floated recently to oppose the union government's move to maintain status quo instead of implementing the DCI recommendation to decrease the six schedule tribe (reserved) assembly seats and a parliamentary seat in the state.
MSM would stage dharna infront of Raj Bhavan at Ranchi on February 7 to press its demand, Mandal said.
Mahto said MSM strongly support the constitutional and fundamental rights of adivasi community but certainly not the expense of other community.
He expressed the apprehension that non-implementation of DCI's recommendations would widen the gap between the tribal and non-tribal population.
