MS Bitta seeks permission from President to end his life

MS Bitta, Chairman of All India Anti-Terrorist Front (AITF), on Wednesday approached President Pratibha Patil seeking permission for "ending his life", claiming he was certain that terrorists would kill him.

NEW DELHI: MS Bitta, Chairman of All India Anti-Terrorist Front (AITF), on Wednesday approached President Pratibha Patil seeking permission for "ending his life", claiming he was certain that terrorists would kill him.

Bitta, who survived three bomb blasts targeting him, submitted a memorandum to Patil in this regard saying he considers himself a "walking bomb".

"I know that numerous people are going to lose their life or get injured and handicapped for the rest of their lives. I do not wish that a single life is lost due to me. Hence in the larger interest of the society and for the sake of innocent lives, I request you to consider my case as a speial one and fulfill my wish," he said.

He said he was pained to mention that though terrorists failed to deter him from his stand, but he felt let down by "political terrorism" since 1993.
