NEW DELHI: Demand for a CBI probe was made in the Lok Sabha today in a fake recruitment scam in Railways in which 40 youth from Maharashtra were duped by Rs seven lakh each.

Shiv sena member Arvind Sawant said the youth were victims of a "perfect con operation" allegedly involving some people from the Railways as they had got the orders for appointments from the Rail Bhawan after interviews conducted at the Krishi Bhavan here.

He said the affected youth were also sent for a three-month training at a railway station in Bihar.

Sawant said the Railway Minister should take immediate cognisance of the issue and order a CBI probe.
