MP govt implements sub-plans for BPL families

BHOPAL: Under National Rural Employment Guarantee Schemes(NREGS), Madhya Pradesh government is implementing beneficiary-oriented and community-oriented sub-plans for BPL families of scheduled castes and scheduled tribes as well as beneficiaries of land reform and Indira Awas schemes.

A target has been fixed to benefit five lakh beneficiaries under these sub-plans, an official release quoting Minister for Panchayats and Rural Development Rustam Singh said.

"Kapildhara scheme is being implemented on the private lands of beneficiaries, Nandan Falodyan for horticulture development, Bhumishilp for land reform and community-oriented Nirmal Vatika sub-plan is being implemented for improvement in environment and ensuring cleanliness," Rustam said.

Other community-oriented schemes included Shailparn, Resham, Vanya, Sahastra Dhara and Nirmal Neer, which are being implemented by the government.

Under Kapildhara scheme,1.75 lakh beneficiaries have been selected. Wells are being dug on the lands belonging to 1.20 lakh such beneficiaries. Under the scheme, new wells are also dug.

Khet-Talabs are being constructed for replenishing underground water table, apart from construction of masonry check dams, stop dams and minor reservoirs. The beneficiaries are selected under the scheme whose agricultural lands are devoid of any water source.

Under Nandan Falodyan, more than 50,000 beneficiaries have been selected and 11.80 lakh saplings have been planted in about 70,000 hectare area at a cost of Rs 8.10 crore.
