JAIPUR: Cold conditions have started gripping Rajasthan with mercury slipping to four degrees Celsius at hill station Mount Abu even as foggy weather was reported in other districts of the state.

Due to fresh northerly winds, mercury dipped further to four degrees Celsius in Mount Abu and foggy weather disturbed normal life in Alwar, Bharatpur and Sikar districts, a MeT official said today.

In the plains, Sikar recorded a minimum temperature of 7.6 degrees Celsius while Jaipur recorded the season's lowest temperature of 11.5 degrees Celsius last night, the official said.

Udaipur recorded minimum temperature of 8 degrees Celsius followed by Jaisalmer 10.8 degrees, Pilani 11.3 degrees, Churu 11.4 degrees, Sri Ganganagar 11.7 degrees, Bikaner 12.3 degrees, Jodhpur 13 degrees, and Kota 13.1 degrees Celsius.

Winter conditions would further increase in Rajasthan over the next two days, the MeT forecast said.
