NEW DELHI: Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed today presented a book he wrote on his experiences as a member of Indian delegation to UN General Assembly to President Pranab Mukherjee.

Ahamed has been a member of Indian delegation to the UN General Assembly consecutively for six years and in his book 'India's Voice at the United Nations', he shares his observations on handling various foreign policy issues.

"I am impressed by the various subjects and the amount of work Ahamed has put in. He has been a delegate to the UN at a time when the geo-political situation was tense and has been able to articulate India's stance to the world," the President said.

Ahamed played an important role in presenting India's viewpoint to the UNSC after the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, which led to the arrest of some of the operatives and ban on JuD, Mukherjee said.

Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai and former Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations T P Sreenivasan were also present on the occasion.
