Montek Singh Ahluwalia rubbishes criticism of PM, says issues addressed

Rubbishing criticism of the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Ahluwalia today said he has already addressed several issues.

NEW DELHI: Rubbishing criticism of the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia today said he has already addressed several issues.

"I think, most of the issues on which Time has criticised the government...they are exactly the issues..the Prime Minister has addressed in his interview to Hindustan Times," Ahluwalia told reporters here.

Taking a dig at the magazine, he said, "My view, would be that, we should send the copy of Hindustan Times interview to Time magazine."

Time in its cover story titled "Underachiever" criticised the Prime Minister for slow pace of reforms and decision making.

According to Ahluwalia, "That is an old story. I don't comment on every magazine comment...You claim that (it is an international magazine) and regard Time to be all in all. Magazine should say, what they have to say."

"There is no country, which does not have problem", he said adding "we also have problems."
