Monsoon advances to more areas in Odisha
As expected, the south-west monsoon reached Odisha on June 13. Onset of monsoon was predicted anytime between June 13 and 15.

The south-west monsson which had covered entire Malkangiri district after entering the state yesterday, got further activated covering Nawarangpur and Koraput districts today, the MeT office said.
Several parts of Nuapada, Kalahandi and Rayagada districts were also covered by the monsoon and experienced rains, they said.
According to a senior IMD official, conditions are now favourable for further advance of the south-west monsoon into some more parts of north Arabian Sea, Gujarat, remaining parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh, north-west Bay of Bengal and West Bengal, more areas of Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh and some parts of Jharkhand and Bihar in the next 3 days.
