NEW DELHI: Ahead of Narendra Modi's swearing-in as prime minister, BJP chief Rajnath Singh on Thursday held a meeting with the party's general secretaries to oversee preparations for the event for which over 3,000 people are being invited.

"We discussed in detail arrangements for the oath-taking ceremony of Modi and his council of ministers. There is a lot of enthusiasm about the event," general secretary Ananth Kumar said.

He declined to give details of the invitees for the event on May 26 on the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan, saying it was being handled by the President's secretariat. All CMs and governors are likely to be invited. Modi's family members, including his mother and brothers, are likely to attend the event.
