Modi toys with the idea of setting up toys bank in Gujarat

The Gujarat chief minister Narednra Modi is toying with the idea of setting up 'toys bank' in the aganwadis and primary schools across the state.

VADODARA: The Gujarat chief minister Narednra Modi is toying with the idea of setting up 'toys bank' in the aganwadis and primary schools across the state.

Modi, who was in the city on Sunday to attend the golden jubilee celebrations of Baroda Milk Dairy, said he would urge people of the state to donate toys for setting up such banks in the anganwadis and primary schools.

The purpose behind it is to encourage children in taking up their school education regularly while having fun, Modi said.

He said his idea received overwhelming response as ministers, party MLAs and workers organised rallies in the villages and cities for collecting toys.

Modi said that he did not want it to be a government sponsred programme as it would have led to the allegations of misuse of government fund for buying toys.

People's own participation in such programmes keep his government away from any kind of misuse of fund, Modi said.
