PM Modi, Amit Shah, JP Nadda discuss government-party coordination

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah held discussion with BJP president JP Nadda on Sunday on Centre-party coordination on important issues such as Covid-19 management, cyclone relief and motivating party workers to stand with people in times of crisis.

The meeting comes a week before the BJP is set to observe seven years of the Modi government. Nadda last week in a letter to BJP CMs asked to launch initiatives to assist those who have suffered from the pandemic. In a letter to CMs, Nadda has already said that no celebrations should be held to mark the anniversary due to the ‘circumstances caused by the pandemic’ and asked party workers to specifically reach out to families who lost earning members to Covid-19.

“The PM and party leaders have talked on the need for the party to be more visible and be there for the people, despite the crisis. In some opposition-ruled states, we have also had difficulty in our relief work. We are addressing those issues too,” a Yuva Morcha leader said on condition of anonymity.


RSS leaders led by general secretary Dattatreya Hosable had recently met leaders of various RSS frontal outfits, particularly in UP to help the Yogi Adityanath government check rural spread of Covid-19. The Varanasi model implemented by PM’s trusted MLA AK Sharma was also discussed. Several senior leaders have been holding meetings in the past few days to discuss the way forward for next year’s UP assembly elections. Co-ordination between the government, party and different RSS affiliates was also discussed during the meeting.
