NEW DELHI: As the Narendra Modi government completes one year in office, an extensive media blitz is planned across the country to highlight achievements on both economic and social front since May last year.

As per the plan, all the ministers will hold as many as 21 press conferences in different cities of the country including Jaipur, Guwahati, Jammu, Srinagar, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Bhopal, Patna and Bhubaneshwar.

The exercise will start from May 22 and the ministers who will brief the media include Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Power Minister Piyush Goyal, Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, an official said.

Thereafter, there will be spate of press conferences in the next fortnight.

There will also be a talkathon here in which three ministers - Piyush Goyal, Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and HRD minister Smriti Irani would participate.

In the talkathon, a moderator takes questions from social networking websites and it would be broadcast by Doordarshan.
