NEW DELHI: Speaking through video-conferencing in Global Citizen Festival rock concert in Mumbai, Prime Minister Narendra Modi subtly compared the current demonetisation drive as another clean India campaign. He also exhorted youth to be the torch bearer of cleanliness drive and continue their efforts for making Indian clean from all kinds of filth.

“In the last two years clean campaign is going on. Campaign’s phase two has been broadened to black money,” PM said.

Modi said, with the support of youth, he is convinced that they can and they will build a Swachh Bharat free of all forms of filth within one generation.

Modi also took a dig at the demonetisation drive. PM said: You've (concert organisers) been smart in asking me to only address gathering and not sing, or else I'm sure you'd be asking money back, that too in Rs 100 notes."

Meanwhile, opposition Congress was quick to react on the PM’s address. Congrees spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala on micro blogging site twitter said: "55 people have died, millions are suffering standing in queues, but Modi Ji doesn’t have time for Parliament but has time to address rock concert instead,"
