MLA Bandhu Tirkey nominated Trinamool Congress's Jharkhand unit chief

Another MLA Chamra Linda was appointed its legislative party leader in Jharkhand Assembly, a party release said here.

RANCHI: All India Trinamool Congress today appointed its MLA Bandhu Tirkey as its Jharkhand unit chief.

Another MLA Chamra Linda was appointed its legislative party leader in Jharkhand Assembly, a party release said here.

The two leaders had joined the TMC in March this year in the presence of its General Secretary Mukul Roy.

Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Shashank Sekhar Bhokta had on August one recognised the recent merger of the Jharkhand Janadhikar Manch (JJM) and the Rastriya Kalyan Paksh (RKP) with the Trinamool Congress.

Bhokta had informed the House that JJM MLA Bandhu Tirkey and RKP legislator Chamra Linda had in March given him letters informing about the merger of their respective parties with the All India Trinamool Congress.

With this, TMC made its presence in Jharkhand Assembly for the first time in 14 years since the state's creation.
