Four months after the assembly elections in Assam, opposition party All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has alleged that Sivsagar MLA Akhil Gogoi sought ₹ 10 Crore from the Mahagathbandhan (grand alliance) to join the alliance.

AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam alleged ₹10 crores was sought from the AIUDF to join the Congress led grand alliance. “Gogoi’s Raijor Dal did not join the grand alliance as we did not pay. There were several discussions with Gogoi prior to elections held in March-April. Our party was not in a position to pay such a huge amount.”

Gogoi recently proposed alliance of opposition parties’ sans AIUDF. “Both BJP and AIUDF are communal parties,” Gogoi said.

Raijor Dal has however refuted the charges and said that why is AIUDF racking up the issue now.
