Food Minister John Rotluangliana said that Mizoram is planning to implement the Food Security Act from November this year.

AIZAWL: Mizoram is planning to implement the Food Security Act from November this year and preparation for it is going on in full swing, state Food Minister John Rotluangliana said today.

"The Food Security Act will cover 7,06,296 people," he said after inaugurating a training programme on the National Food Security Act, 2013 and end-to-end computerisation of Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) here.

"Around 28,810 Antodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) families would be able to receive 35 kgs of rice per month at the rate of Rs 5, while 5,78,182 others can purchase five kgs of rice per month at the rate of Rs 5," he said.
