AIZAWL: Mizoram's Minister of State for the Chief Ministers Office (CMO) Lal Thanzara has asked the Deputy Commissioner of inter-state border district of Kolasib Jitender Yadav to conduct a probe into the national tricolour falling from pall after being hoisted during Independence Day celebrations at Vairengte town.

Zoram Industrial Development Corporation (ZIDCO) Chairman Lalrobiaka MLA, the chief guest in the Independence Day celebrations at Vairengte town, on the Assam-Mizoram border, could not unfurl the tricolour during the function despite several attempts.

The flag fell from the pall after it was hoisted, an official statement said here today.

Yadav has appointed Additional DC, Kolasib, Lalfela Sailo to inquire into the incident and submit reports within a month,the statement said
