NEW DELHI: India recently carried out a thorough review of security preparedness at all its missions in Afghanistan, MoS for external affairs VK Singh said in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. Inspection teams headed by senior security experts have visited missions to take stock of the security measures. He said the government periodically reviews security arrangements at the missions. ET had reported on Wednesday that Kabul had suggested a more secure location for India’s Jalalabad consulate that has come under several terror attacks.

On Wednesday, India and Afghanistan signed 12 memoranda of understanding as Delhi pledged $20.4 million fresh aid to Kabul. The MoUs were signed by the Indian ambassador Manpreet Vohra and a number of the Afghan cabinet ministers, in the presence of chief executive officer Abdullah Abdullah in Kabul on Wednesday.
