Minister slams BJP for stalling Parliament
PUDUCHERRY: Lambasting the BJP for stalling the second half of Budget session of Parliament, Union Minister V Narayanasamy on Sunday said it only showed that the main Opposition had no faith in democracy.

However, he appealed to the entire Opposition to cooperate with the government in passing key legislations including the Food Security Bill during the monsoon session.

BJP "stalled" Parliament proceedings and prevented adoption of legislations like Food Security Bill, Land Acquisition Bill and Pension Bill among others, Narayanasamy, Minister of State in the PMO, told reporters here.

"Any issue could find solutions only through debate and this is the hallmark of Constitution and democracy," he said adding that the BJP "has only betrayed the fact that it has no faith in democracy by stalling the proceedings."

The second half of the session saw disruptions by the Opposition, including BJP, over coal block allocation scam and bribery allegations related to the Railways ministry.
