Militants kill jawan, attack police station

SRINAGAR: Militants shot dead a CRPF jawan and carried out a grenade attack on a police station in Jammu and Kashmir, where security forces recovered looted weapons from a hideout, a police spokesman said.

Constable Sameer Ahmad, who had come home from his place of posting in Jammu to celebrate Eid with his family, was shot dead by militants outside his house at Malangam in Pulwama district last night, the spokesman said.

He said militants hurled a grenade towards a police station at Kangan.
