IMPHAL: Militants detonated a powerful bomb at the official residence of Manipur Chief Minister Ibobi Singh, but no one was hurt, official sources said today.

The sources said the militants either fired the explosive by rocket launcher or threw it from the northern side of the bunglow at around 9 pm last night.

Singh and family members were inside the house, but no one was hurt. Militant outfit People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) spokesman said the attack was carried out by its members.

The area has been sealed since last night. This was the second attack on the chief minister's residence. Militants had earlier attacked the residence on November 14, 2006.
