Militant arrested during combing operation in Imphal

IMPHAL: A militant of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) identified as Soibam Rita Devi (41) was arrested during a massive combing operation at Haobam Marak area in Imphal west district of Manipur, police said today.

One mobile phone and some documents were seized from her possession when she was arrested yesterday, they said.

Rita Devi confessed before the police that she joined the outfit in 2012 and was working with the outfit for various other activities under the command of some of her senior colleagues, sources said.

She has been sent to Imphal west district police for further interrogation, sources said.
