NEW DELHI: Panthers Party today sought the intervention of the Central government to ameliorate the suffering of Dogra migrants living in relief camps.
Panthers Party chief Bhim Singh met Home Minister Shivraj Patil and submitted a memorandum regarding the "plight" of 11,000 Jammu Dogra Migrants who he alleged have been denied relief by the Jammu and Kashmir government in defiance of Supreme Court orders.
He demanded immediate relief both in cash and kind to all the persons residing in various camps and registered with the authorities.
Singh said the migrants have not been provided relief by the state government since March 2004 despite the direction of the Supreme Court on November 25, 2002 and again in its final judgement July 13, 2006, a party statement said.
"I urge your immediate intervention," Singh said in a memorandum to Patil.
