MIDC launches online form for land allotment

MUMBAI: Maharashtra’s industrial department will soon have paperless working. The state’s industry department and the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) are progressing towards paperless functioning and making available an online a common application form for all clearances required for setting up industrial units, said industry secretary VK Jayrath on Thursday. Working towards this goal, the MIDC on Thursday launched online application form for land allotment.

Mr Jayrath said it was essential that prospective industrialists are also provided with systems of fast governance apart from quality industrial infrastructure. “We will extend this initiative to provide a common application form online for all clearances and making paperless the functioning of entire industry department,” Mr Jayrath said.

Rajeev Jalota, chief executive officer, MIDC, said the MIDC had also engaged Tata Consultancy Services for designing an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system which would be bringing in further transparency, efficiency, and data upgradation at the MIDC.
