Mid-year Refit Review conducted at Eastern Naval Command
VISAKHAPATNAM: The Mid Year Refit Review (MYRR) and Mid Year Infrastructure Review (MYIR) was held under the chairmanship of Chief of Materiel, Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) Vice Admiral K R Nair at the Eastern Naval Command here.

In his address, Nair highlighted that the Indian Navy has made rapid progress in the past three decades in terms of technology and maintenance support infrastructure.

He exhorted that the technical personnel to remain focused on challenges posed by state of the art technologies being inducted on new ships, while ensuring that older ships are also maintained in peak operational state, according to a navy release released yesterday.

The Chief of Material said that timely setting up of technical infrastructure in tune with navy's growth plan was critical to ensure life cycle support of ships and submarines.

He said that officers should remain focused towards creating support facilities for future inductions as per Maritime Capability Perspective Plan (MCPP) duly approved by the cabinet.
