Merger of 6 Janata Parivar parties has no meaning: Giriraj Singh
MATHURA: Union minister and BJP leader Giriraj Singh said that the announcement of a merger by six constituents of the erstwhile ' Janata Parivar' has no meaning in democracy.

"The decision of Mulayam, Lalu, Nitish, Sharad Yadav and other leaders to come on a common platform has no meaning in democracy. Reliability of a leader is decided by his following," Singh said here last evening.

Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises said that the merger is for their own existence and not for the people.

"They are fighting for their existence and not for the people," he said while talking to reporters at the residence of Rajesh Chaudhary, convenor of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM).

SP, Janata Dal (Secular), Rashtriya Janata Dal, Janata Dal (United), Indian National Lok Dal and Samajwadi Janata Party will soon become one party as their leaders had recently authorised Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav to work out the "modalities" for becoming one party through a merger.

Singh also appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for refurbishing the image of India in the world.

"The outcome of his foreign visits are a witness it," he said.

"After Lok Sabha elections, Modi's popularity has been established at the recent Vidhan Sabha elections as well," the BJP leader said.
