Mercury continues to rise in Rajasthan, Mount Abu coldest at 6.2 degrees Celsius
JAIPUR: With mercury rising above normal in plains in Rajasthan, Mount Abu in the hills was the coldest place in the state with a minimum temperature of 6.2 degrees Celsius last night, a MeT report said today.

Mercury has shot up at all places in the plains by one to three degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours due to passing of a weak quality western disturbance, the report said.

The minimum temperature in most parts of the state ranged between 10.3 and 15.5 degrees Celsius including that in Jaisalmer, Pilani, Koa, Udaipur, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Churu and Ganganagar.

Bikaner and Kota recorded little drizzles in the last 24 hours due to passing out of the western disturbance.

Mercury is likely to fall in the state due to influx of northerly cold winds in the next 24 hours as western disturbance will pass out by midnight and sky will be clear, a forecast said.
