Mehbooba Mufti calls for caution against Omar Abdullah's tweets
SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday accused the opposition and media of setting the state on fire by creating controversial issues of sainik colonies and industrial policy.

Mufti alleged that two-three newspapers were in the race to publish controversial stories without due diligence while former CM Omar Abdullah tweets to ‘send people to gallows’ and ‘play with their lives.’ “You want to send people to gallows and put the state on fire. Talk to army if you have issues about Sainik Colonies, which anyways are not being constructed. This is not an army department,” angry Mufti shouted at the opposition benches in the assembly.

The chief minister claimed that issues cannot be created out of former CM’s tweets, with out any investigation. “Whether I remain (in chair) for two days or two years I will not allow you to play with the lives of my people,” said Mufti.

The CM was agitated after opposition MLA Engineer Rashid raised the issue of construction of Sainik Colonies while referring to a story in a local newspaper. The government has also decided to review the industrial policy passed during Governor NN Vohra’s tenure in which non-state subjects have been given rights to establish businesses on lease in the state. “We will not allow anybody to put the state on fire. Everyday you come up with farce issues,” she added.
